Position: CEO- 240 days

 

Job Goal:   The goal of the CEO is to ensure the continuous improvement of the community partnership and programs at the college and career academy.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to directing the administrative, curricular and instructional services at the college and career academy for the purpose of increasing student performance and local workforce development.    

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education

 

 

Experience, Skill and Certification 

  1. Leadership experience in education or business-related field  – 5 years minimum
  2. Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate 
  3. Experience with state and federal program reporting
  4. Exemplary oral and written communication skills
  5. Experience in developing annual budgets and managing assets for non-profit 
  6. Experience with school to career transition activities to include “Move-on-when-ready”, internship, apprenticeships, mentorships, career shadowing and employment
  7. Progressive leadership experience in a corporate environment for ten or more years; preferred
  8. Secondary School (grades 6-12) instructional experience; preferred
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prompt and regular attendance 
  2. Creates annual operating plans that support strategic goal and objectives set by the Board of Directors and correlates with annual budgets
  3. Collaborates with the principals, Superintendent, and stakeholders to define and articulate the academy’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision
  4. Demonstrates prior experience in vision and strategy development in a partnership environment
  5. Builds workforce culture by promoting positive working environments and exercising consistent values that reflect the organization’s mission
  6. Builds effective teams through focused leadership and the resolution of barriers and differences
  7. Works with principals and teachers to ensure the integrity of each program
  8. Reviews and assist in approving instructional materials used in CTAE programs
  9. Provides leadership in the secondary to post-secondary course/program articulation effort
  10. Coordinates the Industry Program Accreditation/Certification effort at the college and career academy
  11. Assists teachers with Career Technical Student Organizations located at  the college and career academy
  12. Assists in the development of plans and specifications for new and renovated facilities for CTAE programs located at  the college and career academy
  13. Is educated with legislation which impacts CTAE and ensures Liberty County remains in compliance
  14. Monitors Programs-of-Work, extended day, and extended year reports at the college and career academy
  15. Oversees preparation for State Program Review of CTAE programs housed at the college and career academy
  16. Practices data-driven decision making utilizing private sector input and student performance information
  17. Works collaboratively with principals to integrate the core and CTAE curriculum
  18. Works to increase student enrollment in post-secondary programs
  19. Conduct teacher evaluation process for CTAE teachers at  the college and career academy
  20. Conducts recruiting, screening and recommending candidates for teaching positions at  the college and career academy
  21. Assists in the planning and implementing of professional learning activities for CTAE teachers at  the college and career academy Manages assets of the non-profit corporation
  22. Oversees staff in developing annual budgets that support operating plans and submits budgets for approval
  23. Assures that the academy and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong positive image to relevant stakeholders
  24. Prepares and submits to the CTAE budget and reports as requested for  the college and career academy
  25. Identifies financial resources available for use in CTAE programs as it relates to  the college and career academy
  26. Evaluates projects/programs to determine efficacy 
  27. Interacts with the business community to identify new sources of funding projects and programs
  28. Serves as the primary spokesperson and representative for the academy to all stakeholders
  29. Assists with public presentation and other public relations activities designed to engage public and private partners
  30. Collaborates with area business and state agencies to provide workforce development with local needs
  31. Routinely measures and reports progress to all stakeholders
  32. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:

Light Work:  Exerting 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.

Terms of Employment:

       Salary shall be paid consistent on the System’s approved salary schedule.  Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.

Evaluation:

          Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Superintendent of Schools.
